At the beginning of February, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) opened a call for proposals for “Ideas Powered for business” initiative for 2025, a grant programme designed to help small and medium-sized enterprises in the EU to protect their innovations and enhance their competitiveness in the market. The grants are in the form of vouchers covering various areas such as protection of trade marks, designs, patents, plant varieties and activities such as filings, registrations, publications payment of official fees and the IP Scan service. Throughout 2025, grants will be available on a “first come, first served” basis until all available funds have been used up and terminating on 5th December 2025. Before carrying out the eligible procedure, the applicant must have obtained the corresponding voucher. If accepted you can benefit from:

✅ Partial reimbursements for trademarks and designs.
✅ Partial reimbursements for patents.
✅ Discounts on official fees for new applications.

This groundbreaking initiative has helped support over 72,000 SMEs since its start in 2021. SMEs are a central part of the European economy, therefore the EUIPO has created this important collaboration with the aim of fostering innovation and stimulating growth by identifying how to best safeguard IP assets through this financial incentive. Don’t miss this opportunity to boost your business and protect your ideas!
