About Me
Gemma studied a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry at the University of Barcelona (UB), a period where she worked in the regulatory area of the chemical sector. She then completed a master’s degree in Applied Materials Chemistry and later continued with her doctoral studies in Nanoscience at the same university, for which she is awaiting the defense. During her doctoral training she focused on the synthesis of porous nanomaterials for biomedical and energy applications. She also completed a doctoral stay at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH Zurich) and published several scientific articles.
In early 2026, after receiving specific training in patents through the Patent Center of the University of Barcelona and the European Patent Office, Gemma joined ZBM Patents & Trademarks. As a patent technician, her work includes conducting patentability studies, drafting patent applications and infringement risk reports, as well as managing patent procedures.
