ZBM participates in an IP session at Universitat Internacional de Catalunya

On April 29th, our colleague Bernabé Zea will participate as a speaker in a training session focused on knowledge transfer.
The session is organized by the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya, through its Knowledge Transfer and Valorisation Centre (CTC-VR).
The training is aimed at researchers across a wide range of disciplines—including health sciences, psychology, social sciences and humanities—and addresses a particularly relevant question: what can be protected beyond the traditional patent?

Key topics will include the protection of teaching materials, algorithms, methodologies, measurement scales and digital content; how to balance IP protection with scientific publication; strategies to facilitate transfer to industry; and alternatives to patents such as copyright, know-how, trade secrets and licensing models.
This session offers a practical, cross-disciplinary perspective that reflects the realities of today’s research environment and highlights the evolving role of intellectual property as a driver of real-world impact.
