Minerva is originally from the United States, where she began her career in Intellectual Property Law as a patent examiner specialized in Electronics Engineering at the US Patent & Trademark Office.
Minerva is a registered US Patent Agent, and may directly represent clients before the United States Patent & Trademark Office.
Prior to settling in Barcelona Minerva worked at various reputable IP firms in The Netherlands, during which time she qualified as a European Patent Attorney. She joined ZBM in 2019.
She studied Electrical & Electronics Engineering at UPR Mayagüez, a U.S. land-grant, sea-grant, and space-grant university in the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico. As part of her studies she also attended Luleå University of Technology in the outskirts of the Arctic Circle in northern Sweden.
She specialized in digital signal processing (DSP) and researched Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) image processing techniques, sponsored by Kodak.
She studied Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship at the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom as part of her MSc in Engineering & Entrepreneurship. Her thesis involved research into image-based monitoring of sickle cell anemia in vulnerable populations in the African continent.
Prior to entering the IP field, Minerva was an Electronics Engineer in the Avionics Division of the US Navy Naval Air Systems Command.
