On 5th December ZBM’s Noemí Daviu held an online session entitled ‘How to protect dermatological and dermacosmetic products’ as part of the international European Master in Translational Cosmetic and Dermatological Sciences (EMOTION), which brings together R&D students from all over the world.

Illustrated with practical examples, Noemí shared her expert knowledge by outlining different aspects of IP, specifically focussing on patents, the main patentability requirements and typical filing strategies that ensure efficient protection for innovations in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic field.

Funded by the European Union and organized by the Miguel Hernández University of Elche, the University of Piemonte Orientale (Italy), the Charité University of Berlin (Germany), and the University of Namur (Belgium), the Emotion Master is aimed at students who wish to pursue a career in R&D and contribute to the development of new medicines or cosmetics. Through specialist workshops such as Noemí’s, students are equipped with competencies and the entrepreneurial skills needed to develop into dermo cosmetics experts.
