As of last month, MIP (Managing IP) launched a brand-new list of IP firms entitled Women Founders’, aiming to highlight IP companies that were founded or co-founded by women. We are delighted to announce that ZBM Patents & Trademarks has been included on this new list.

ZBM is a young company that was founded in 2003 with the goal of changing the patent landscape in Spain. The company was founded by Anna Barlocci together with Bernabé Zea and Peter Markvardsen.

Anna is mechanical engineer. She was the first Spanish candidate to pass the European Qualifying Examination in 1999. Apart from drafting and prosecuting patent applications, she also handles strategic counselling for clients and foreign associates, as well as freedom to operate and due diligence. Anna is also involved in patent cases before the Spanish courts and has participated in pan-European litigations. She also dedicates time to raising awareness of the ever-changing patent system through teaching and coordinating courses and seminars.

Anna has been a MIP IP Patent Star since 2016 and in 2019 was included in the Top 250 Women in IP list. She has also been in the IAM rankings since 2015, currently in the categories of Spain and European Patent Office.

Managing IP is considered one of the world’s market-leading IP directories which identifies outstanding intellectual property firms and practitioners from around the world. It has a long-standing reputation for showcasing and supporting diversity in the IP profession and we are very proud that ZBM is included on this new list.
