As in previous years, ZBM has been listed in the “highly recommended” category for patent prosecution firm in Spain in the 2021 edition of the IAM Patent 1000 – The World’s Leading Patent Professionals, the Intellectual Asset Management magazine. It’s with great pride and due to all the exceptionally dedicated work from our top team that we can say that we have held this enviable position uninterrupted since 2012. IAM is the well-respected ‘go-to’ resource and guide to World-class patent specialists for companies and individuals seeking the best in global patent services.

This gold category award is particularly important to us at ZBM as the recommendation is a result of ‘positive peer and client feedback’, thus reflecting the appreciation of ZBM and why we have been called “One of the best patent firms in Europe” because of the excellent quality of work we consistently produce. As well as being placed in the ‘highly recommended’ category for Spanish patent prosecution firm, we have safely held on to our European Patent Office (EPO) ranking, the only Spanish firm among the 36 recommended in this category. Anna Barlocci is also yet again a well-deservingly highlighted individual in the short list of attorneys at European level.

This year we have also notched up 7 individual recommendations from the ZBM team. In the chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology fields we have Bernabé Zea, regarded as “a straightforward attorney who can be trusted with the most complicated cases”, dealing with many lawsuits involving big pharmaceutical companies and is always one step ahead at designing new patent systems tailored to client’s needs. Other chemistry maestros are, Montserrat Jané who is said to be “creative and clear in her advice”, she has a high success rate in oppositions and appeals and she is a canny and ingenious problem solver, Noemí Daviu who clients state that she “carefully considers all relevant legal and commercial issues while keeping clients’ interests front and centre”. We also have newcomer to the rankings, Natividad Toledo who joins our list of ZBM stars, highly praised for her astute “interpretation of documents who pays exceptional attention to detail, has superior writing skills and gives practical tips too”.

In mechanics area Anna Barlocci has an “outstanding technical knowledge and understanding of patent procedures”. She is proactive, approaches different arguments creatively and is “great at answering complex questions”. Carles Comes is defined as “one of the best in the business” when it comes to electronics, telecommunications and software patents and is a “highly sought-after technical expert”. Oscar Rubio Solis is “great at capturing inventions and improving them too”. He is unflinching in his defence and always looks in depth into the intricacies of the technology in question, this profound curiosity and weighty knowledge lead him to be a trusty partner for inventors.

Finally, we are also thrilled to have , Anna Barlocci, Carles Comes and Bernabé Zea named as IAM Global Leaders 2021. This merit marks them out as the most elite in their profession and acknowledges their superior skill sets and experience. The Global leaders inspire new generations of attorneys and inform companies both large and small-scale on their IP rights amongst the ever-changing patents landscapes. They “go above and beyond to deliver for their clients”.  Another good IAM Patent 1000 year for ZBM, well done all!
